PhD seminar
The Finance and Econometrics Research and Networking (FERN) Seminar is a monthly format for discussing doctoral students' research projects in the areas of finance and econometrics.
The seminar is hosted by the groups of Julian Thimme and Fabian Krüger. Interested doctoral students from other groups are always welcome, and we strive for an open and constructive atmosphere. We expect the attendees to participate regularly, regardless of whether or not they present in a session.
Prior to each session, participants can sign up for a contribution by sending an email to thimme. Please classify your contribution into one of the following categories: ∂ kit edu
1) Simulation of a conference talk, without interruption by questions. For relatively mature research projects, i.e. a paper is already available. The main aim is to provide feedback on the presenter's communication of their research. Length: ~30 minutes.
2) Seminar-style presentation, with the possibility for participants to interrupt for questions and comments. This format is intended for ongoing projects. The main aim is to provide feedback on the content. Length: ~45 minutes
Meetings take place Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. in room 320 in Blücherstraße 17 (Campus B). The next meetings are Nov 23, Dec 14, Jan 18, and Feb 15.
If you want to join our group, please sign up by sending an email to thimme∂kit.edu. This will allow us to provide you with information about the agenda of the next meeting.
